Court Hire Bookings - Terms & Conditions

By providing an online booking system, we are endeavouring to keep this booking process as simple as possible. Please take the time to read the following Terms & Conditions to understand how Croydon Tennis Centre manages bookings and events.

Cancellation Policy

Please contact Croydon Tennis Centre in the event of court booking cancellations.

Permanent Court Hire

DEPOSIT: A 2 week deposit is required to secure your booking.
PAYMENTS: To be made monthly in advance on 1st week of every month. Bookings must be paid for by the day of play, prior to the booking commencement.
ONE OFF CANCELLATIONS: A minimum 24 hour cancellation notice period is required to allow for court re-booking.
NO SHOWS and last minute cancellations will not be credited unless of course the centre can re-let your booking.
SUBLETS: If you are unable to play one week and the Centre can re-let your court, you will receive a full credit. The centre will try it’s best.
RAIN – In the event of rain, you are required to call the centre, we will advise if the courts are playable. Failure to do so will result in being charged for the court hire.
CANCELLATIONS: 4 weeks notice of cancellation of booking is required. Croydon Tennis Centre reserves the right to cancel any permanent bookings in the event of a breach of these terms and conditions.

Casual Court Hire Bookings

Online court bookings must be made before 5pm for evening play.  Any bookings made after this time for the same evening will not be honoured.

Minimum 6 hours cancellation notice for casual Court Hire and Social Tennis. (Please try to give as much notice as you can so your court time or place can be used by another player.)

RAIN – In the event of rain, you are required to call the centre, we will advise if the courts are playable.  Failure to do so will result in being charged for the court hire.
 

For all pre-paid bookings that are affected by unplayable weather or have been cancelled in the required space of time (24hrs Group & Private Tuition, 6hrs Court Hire & Social Tennis) the Centre will grant a Centre Credit.

Croydon Tennis Centre Credits expire after six months (180 days) from the time the initial credit is granted or until such a time as Croydon Tennis Centre ceases trading/operating at its present location. Croydon Tennis Centre does not refund any unused Credits. The onus is on players to use credits within the specified time period.

Minimum of 24 hours cancellation notice for Permanent Court Hire, Special event bookings, Group Classes & Private Lessons, Cardio Tennis, Tennis Anyone Social Tennis and Challenge Events. (Please try to give as much notice as you can so your place can be used by another player.)

A $25 administration fee will be charged if there are continous unwarranted cancellation requests.

Playing at the Wrong Level

The centre reserves the right to advise players of their appropriate level/standard which overrides a player's self-assessment. On rare occasions players can grade themselves incorrectly - usually too high - and a coach or staff member will advise them to which level class or social tennis group they can participate in.

If a staff member advises you that your level is not appropriate for a particular Class/Social Group we ask players not to take offence and dispute the assessment. The centre expects Members/Players to follow and respect the advice of the coach/staff in an appropriate way.

Once players have been advised not to participate at a certain level, they cannot book into that class or group until such a time as they reach that level through coaching and regular practice - the staff will advise when a player is ready to move up.

Players who continue to re-book into levels where they have been advised otherwise will be refused entry into that level.

Centre players may request a grading session with a centre coach or the Director to verify their level if they feel it is too low.

Payment Private Lessons

  1. Payment must be made prior to the commencement of the lesson.
  2. Discounted rates only apply to members (please refer to Membership for further information)

Wet Weather

  1. Private lessons are on regardless of weather or forecasts. It is your responsibility to contact Croydon Tennis Centre one hour prior to lesson commencement confirming if coaching is on. It is your responsibility to ensure Croydon Tennis Centre has all your relevant current contact details.
  2. If less than half the normal lesson time is completed due to rain, then the unused portion of the lesson will be credited or made up.
  3. Hot shots program & Group lessons – Croydon Tennis Centre reserves the right to combine activities or classes on wet weather days. These sessions cannot be credited or deducted from fees and it is your obligation to attend the rescheduled make-up lesson time.
  4. All lessons – lessons that are washed out after over half the allotted time has been completed will count as a full lesson.

Booking

  1. Croydon Tennis Centre reserves the right to: Make price changes without notice. Cacel any booking at short notice. (The Centre will contact you and re-assign a different time or give a refund if deemed appropriate). Re-assign a court other than the court which has been booked specifically online or otherwise.
  2. Pre-payment
    The Centre requires pre-payment for all bookings.
  3. Double Bookings
    The Centre does not take responsibility for booking conflicts.
    Pre-paid bookings take precedence over any booking claim.
    It is the client's responsibility to provide evidence of any booking claim.
    Where the Centre is found to be in error, it will do its utmost to rectify the situation - however, refer to point 1.
  4. Commercial Bookings
    Use of the bookings system is for Individual Use Only & is not re-saleable.
    Tennis Coaches are not permitted to book courts without prior permission from Croydon Tennis Centre Management. Commercial Rates may apply.
    Event Management Companies must apply in writing to Croydon Tennis Centre outlining the exact details of the event that is to be held, before any booking considerations can be made.
  5. Extending a Booking
    Extending your booking is not free of charge. Please check with the office first - if you have booked a court for an hour and play an extra 20 minutes additional court hire fees apply. This will be charged at the pre-paid rate for that time period divided by the amount of time that has been used.
  6. Using Extra Courts
    Using an extra court(s) is not free of charge. Please check with the office first - If you happen to be playing doubles and decide to play singles because the court next to you is vacant, additional court hire fees apply. This will be charged at the pre-paid rate for that time period divided by the amount of time used.
  7. Member Court Bookings
    Members are not permitted to book courts/events for non-members to obtain the discount rate for friends, family and colleagues. The correct non-member rate will be applied to the booking.
  8. Racquet Hire
    Croydon Tennis Centre hires tennis racquets. We require a current NSW drivers licence.
  9. Permanent Bookings
    Permanent Bookings that have been granted are only done so on the condition that players understand the booking is not an indefinite fixture and may be needed by the centre at a later date. The centre takes precedence over any booking.

Hire Racquets

Only available during office hours
Standard racquets per session: $5.00

Membership

  • Membership is valid until the end of each financial year i.e. 30th June.
  • Membership Includes Tennis NSW Registration & all discounts associated with Tennis NSW Membership
  • Membership Includes Croydon Tennis Centre discounted court hire, social tennis, group & private tuition, weeknight competitions & pro-shop items
  • Membership is non refundable
  • Membership cannot be cancelled and carried over to the next financial year
  • Members are not permitted to book courts, social tennis and group tuition on behalf of non-members to obtain discounted rates

Conflict Resolution

Players please be advised that you may contact Sam Skippen if you feel that you have been unfairly treated. Refer to Player Policy on our website.
